Bu yüksek lisans tezinde, öncelikle toplu taşıma sistemleri genel olarak incelenmiş ve raylı sistemlerin kentsel ulaştırma içindeki konumu sistematik bir yaklaşımla ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla toplu taşıma sistemleri, toplu tasıma sorunları sosyal, ekonomik ve çevresel özellikler açısından incelenmiştir. Buna dayalı olarak ta raylı sistemlerin toplu taşımadaki gerekliliği açıklanmıştır. Kentsel raylı sistemlerdeki teknik gelişmeler» geliştirilen yeni raylı sistemler, büyük şehirlerimizde kullanılan ve halen kullanılmakta olan sistemler incelenmiştir. Son bölümde de Trabzon ilinin mevcut trafik durumu ve sorunları incelerimle, bu sorunlara çözüm alternatifleri düşünülmüştür. In this High Licance Thesis mass transportation systems have been preceedingly studied and the orientation of railway systems in urban communication have been tried to express hy a systematic approach. On this purpose maee transportation system have been examined related with its problems; social, economic and surraunding characteristics. On this basis the importance of railway system in masa transportation have been explained. The technical developments of urban railway systems, the improved new railway systems and the systems were used and now being used in our big citi&B have been examined. In the last chapter, the actual traffic situation and its problems of the city Trabzon have been examined and the solution alternatives have been considered.
